Lets go for the Century
In 1928 the club took what was then the radical decision that, in the event of the Club Captain not being able to play in any match then the match manager should be responsible for the captaincy. Also in that year an invitation was accepted to play against the Wanderers Cricket Club at Bexhill-on-Sea in a two day match in July 1929.

1933 saw the club agreeing to meet the expenses of installing a telephone at the residence of the team manager who was without such a facility and in 1934 it was decided that a few Sunday matches be arranged.
On the 5th March 1935 Borradaile was re-elected President of the club for the last time and, with his passing that year a major link with its beginnings was severed. It was noted that the club was still in a healthy, thriving state and that this was in no small measure due to the soundness of the foundations he had laid. On 6th June his son was elected as a member to perpetuate the family connection with the club.
Also in 1935 it was decided that the club's fixture list should be cut down to 25 matches as, during the mid-1930s, great difficulty was being experienced in obtaining the necessary quota of match managers. In August of this year the committee had a very serious matter to consider in relation to one of it's members whose unsatisfactory conduct by his refusal to explain certain items of expenditure from the club's accounts led to considerable discussion resulting in a proposition by R Andrews, the club Treasurer at the time, which was seconded by G T Harrison. This was carried and the member was asked to resign his membership in accordance with Rule 10.
In 1937 it was suggested to the committee that overseas members, having been much encouraged by the club some forty years ago, should once again be recruited 'in view of the recent influx of visitors from the Antipodies to this country'. The suggestion was accepted and within a few months P E R Hoerder of Calcutta was elected as a member. During the second World War the club's activities virtually ceased and no formal committee meetings were held at all between 18th July 1938 and November 1944. However, during the period the President had in fact arranged a few matches which were greatly enjoyed and enabled some new members to be introduced to the club.
